L'oe Show 2025

Pottstown, PA - 8/31/25
Pottstown, PA - 8/31/25

I've been attending L'oe Show (organized by Jaime Orr) since the first year when it took place inside of the local Coventry Mall. L'oe Show, in my opinion, is the must-attend event for Volkswagen enthusiasts in the Northeast, picking up the mantle of the true spirit of large scale enthusiast events like Waterfest and H2Oi from years past. This was my first year attending as a registered show car owner (well, registered show car lessee I guess...).

I ended up arriving at my designated entrance area a few minutes after the allotted time window began, only to find that section of the road already closed off. I took the next exit and then immediately saw a line of VW's stretching out back towards the entrance. Swinging a quick u-turn, I lined up for my spot in the entry line.

Things started slowly at first, as “normal” traffic realized that they were going to be blocked and angled to maneuver around the ever growing column of show cars. The line continued to creep forward until it was suddenly moving fast. Expecting a longer wait, the guy who emptied out his car to start detailing it (including the full spare set of wheels), quickly got left behind.

Show parking was a little hectic at this point; the struggle for space was real and all cars had to be parked by 9:45 am. While the event space does take up several city blocks, it's also advertised as having over 1,000 cars on display, so this could be expected. With the entry location mix-up on my end and the delay from the line, one was most likely stuck pretty close to wherever you loaded in at. Lesson learned, we'll head out to arrive a bit earlier next year.

I may have told one of the parking volunteers (employees? I'm pretty sure it's mostly volunteers, so kudos to them for that) that I was with the "group" in front of me. I was really just trying to avoid being parked by the porta-potties, after overhearing them discuss plans for the backed up traffic.

Anyway, my plan worked, and I was the third-to-last car lined up right before the food truck area began.

Eschewing both good taste and proper etiquette; instead of hitting my car with a quick detail and wipe down like the other responsible adults, we headed straight to the Meyle tent to line up for one of their sweet custom euro plates.

After Meyle, we made our way down Hanover Street and popped by the swap meet, and snacked on some free popcorn before checking out the park and train station area on the south side of the street.

From here, we headed back to our spot for some shade. Dropped off some freebies we picked up along the way, chilled and just rode the vibes for a bit.

After a little R&R, it was time to head back and check out the rest of the show. Pulling out some favorites from the day here. Starting with the Mk1's:

This year's show celebrated 40 years of the Mk2 in the USA. Some of my favorites that were on display:

The generation that started my love affair with VW's is the Mk3. My first VW was a '95 GTI VR6. These model years were well represented at the show this year as well:

Much respect to the Mk4's as well. Didn't grab too many pictures of the OG R's on display, but they were also well represented. Along with some 337's, 20th anniversary's, and a GLI or two:

Whether you like your Beetle's water-cooled or air-cooled, L'oe Show has you covered:

Moving on to some of the under represented VW's, at least in my opinion, and certainly based on the number of each that were featured. Here's the one CC I saw:

And the three other Arteon's, besides mine (some heavy inspiration here):

Also, we love engine bays in this house; shaved, swapped, wrapped, shielded, tucked, or otherwise:

These cars technically fall under the Volkswagen umbrella as well:

The Performance VW cover car from the September 2025 issue, a flawless Mk1 Scirocco. PVW was also handing out copies of their most recent issue, which was pretty cool. (Subscribe here!):

The main stage area and a quick crowd shot; The Humble Mechanic signing some posters near his VR5 swapped Polo GTI:

We grabbed some pizza from one of the local restaurants that had set up a portable brick oven. Kind of floated around from spot to spot for the rest of the show, taking time to check out some of the other thrift shops and speciality stores that were open on the main strip.

One last shot of where we had been posted up, taken towards the end of the show as cars started to clear out. Made some friends with a few RS6's on the drive back to NY. Already looking forward to coming back to Pottstown and seeing whatever's going to be planned for L'oe Show 2026...
